이창호 한중교류촉진위원회 위원장은 2026년 중국경제사회포럼 참석을 계기로 무함마드 아시프 누르(Muhammad Asif Noor) 파키스탄 평화외교연구소 사무총장에게 자신의 저서를 직접 전달했다.
이 위원장은 포럼 기간 누르 사무총장과 만나 한국·중국·파키스탄 간 민간외교를 확대하고, 국제사회의 평화와 공동번영을 위한 협력을 강화하는 방안을 논의했다.
이 위원장은 저서를 전달하며 “국가 간 관계는 정부 차원의 외교뿐만 아니라 학술·문화·언론 분야의 지속적인 교류를 통해 더욱 굳건해질 수 있다”고 말했다.
누르 사무총장은 중국 사회와 중국의 지도철학, 동북아시아 국제관계에 관한 이 위원장의 연구에 깊은 관심을 나타냈다. 양측은 연구기관과 시민사회단체 간 공동 세미나 및 인적 교류를 추진하는 방안에 대해서도 의견을 나눴다.
이 위원장은 『시진핑, 위대한 중국을 품다』, 『시진핑의 다자주의』, 『시진핑과 한중관계』, 『우리가 아는 중국, 우리가 모르는 중국』 등 여러 저서를 집필했다. 저술과 연구 활동뿐만 아니라 한국과 중국을 잇는 민간외교와 국제문화교류에도 지속적으로 힘써 왔다.
이 위원장은 “이번 저서가 단순한 출판물을 넘어 한국과 중국, 파키스탄을 연결하는 지식과 우정의 가교가 되기를 바란다”며 “상호 존중과 신뢰를 바탕으로 아시아의 평화와 공동번영을 위한 국제적 연대를 계속 확대해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

Lee Chang-ho, Chairman of the Korea-China Exchange Promotion Committee, presented his book to Director Noor of Pakistan’s Institute for Peace and Diplomatic Studies on the sidelines of the 2026 China Economic and Social Forum.
During the forum, Chairman Lee met with Executive Director Noor to discuss ways to expand people-to-people diplomacy among North Korea, China, and Pakistan, as well as cooperation for international peace and shared prosperity.
Presenting his book, Lee said, “Relations between countries can be strengthened not only through government-level diplomacy but also through sustained exchanges in the academic, cultural, and media fields.”
Director Noor expressed keen interest in Lee’s research on Chinese society, China’s leadership philosophy, and international relations in Northeast Asia. The two sides also exchanged views on promoting joint seminars and people-to-people exchanges among research institutes and civic organizations.
Lee has authored several books, including Xi Jinping Embraces a Great China Xi Jinping’s Multilateralism, Xi Jinping and Korea-China Relations and The China We Know and the China We Do Not Know. Alongside his writing and research, he has continued to promote people-to-people diplomacy and international cultural exchanges between North Korea and China.
“I hope this book will serve as more than just a publication and become a bridge of knowledge and friendship connecting North Korea, China, and Pakistan,” Lee said. “We will continue to expand international solidarity for peace and shared prosperity in Asia, based on mutual respect and trust.”
